so, last night brian and i went to a gayleague meeting. brian and i met up at midtown comics, went to the big toys 4 us. brian saw these ultralame spiderman night-vision goggle things and said he was going go buy them to wear to the meeting. he didn't, and i accused him of being a chicken and then made chicken noises at him. we went to the pizzeria where the league was meeting (john's pizzeria--- uptown. it's about 3 billion times bigger and nicer than the one downtown, and is apparently owned by the same person. presumably this person's name is john.) we stand outside finishing our cigarettes, when out come this guy pete, whom i had met at last year's thing, and some asian guy named dominic ( http://gayleague.com/members/profiles/displayProfile.php?id=295 ) introductions are made, and brian says to me, you wanna go get a drink real quick? throwing good manners to the wind, i said ok, and we went to some shitty hell's kitchen deli/restaurant/bar and grabbed a quick pint. (former fat-boy brian had an amstel light.) after brian had gotten up his (liquid) courage, we went back to the pizzeria. everyone had already sat down at a table that was kinda too small for brian and i to sit at. still, everyone squeezed in and it was fine. i sat next to this kid anton (http://gayleague.com/members/profiles/displayProfile.php?id=24 ) who i had met at last year’s thing and who was the one who had re-invited me back into the league, (also, i think he’s kinda dreamy, but he has a boyfriend.) brian sat next to this kid named cres. there were about 8 or 9 people there (brian and myself included) and there was hardly any conversation at all going on. i thought this was weird, since these guys have been meeting together for at least a few years, it’s wednesday, so comics just came out, and there’s a goodly amount of people there. one would figure that all of these factors would lead to some kind of chattiness, but alas, t’was not the case. also, brian and i are both sort of shy, socially awkward monglotards, so it’s not like we were coming up with witty banter of our own. no one really talked about anything particularly worth noting here or anywhere else. we all left. brian and i had wanted to go get drinks after dinner, so we did. we muttered a half-hearted invitation to come drink with us, but anton was the only one who responded, saying that his boyfriend was coming back from 3 months in tokyo (where he was working on a movie) and that he had to clean up the apartment and redecorate. brian and i went to this bar called bellevue ( http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/11563256/ ) that brian used to go to all the time. recapped the evening’s events, talked shit, and generally yukked it up.
