a few weeks ago, my big gay boss, john, comes in and checks his email. he calls me over to his desk to show me something amusing that someone had forwarded him. (although i suspect that it might have just been something he came across while looking for porn online.) this is the page he showed me:

john, who is notorious for being really mean about pointing out mistakes in spelling and grammar that others are responsible for, had a field-day with this guy's page, noting the many glaring and not so glaring grammatical and spelling mistakes that this dude had made. after a while, he suggested that we (read: he) create a fake hotmail account, and write this guy to tell him about all of the mistakes on his site. being that john is my boss, and my review is next thursday, i agreed that this would indeed be a good idea, and not a pointless waste of time. so, for the nest 45 minutes i had to sit there with my boss and laugh alongside him as he delighted in correcting some stranger's homepage. this is the letter he wound up sending from the fake address, "slaveboy07307@hotmail.com" :
"Dear Master Marc,
i was sent to Your website today by a friend who knows how much i wish to be owned. i believe in fully submitting to another Man's will, if He is the right Man.
As i began to peruse Your website, my immediate reaction was Reverence and Awe. However, upon further review, i discovered that You are not the right Master for me. You see, i am a highly intelligent slaveboy. Only a highly intelligent Master will be able to tame my savage spirit. You are not that Master.
Your website is riddled with the most ridiculous grammatical errors i have ever seen. Having been a teacher for years, i can honestly say that i have never been as repulsed by an adult's writing as i have been by Yours. Here are some of my favorite excerpts from Your pathetic writing (and my blow-by-blow comments on each):

Their is inherant dangers if you do not fully understand how the human anatomy is constructed in that part of the body, and if you do, the fisting scene itself can be a moment of great ecstasy, wonderment and great sensations for both parties involved. (This one is my personal favorite. It should say... TheRE ARE inherEnt dangers if you do not fully understand how THAT PART OF THE HUMAN BODY IS CONSTRUCTED. And if you do HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE DESIGN, the fisting scene can be a moment of great ecstasy, WONDER and sensation for both parties involved.)
And finally, You MUST make this change to your website.

john then pointed out that it should have read "thank you for YOUR comments" as well as the fact that people are indignant, not insults and stated his intent to reply to this guy to tell him that. i managed to convince him that the guy had been gracious enough to reply, and that there was no real need to be so nitpicky. he grudgingly conceded, and that was the end of that.
so, that was my first hour of work that morning. sitting there, forced to laugh at my boss's harassment of some poor leather dude out in jersey that he has never met. i'd have to do a quick check, but i'm pretty sure that wasn't in my job description.

i'm still new to this, so i'm not exactly sure what to put up. i was thinking of writing something about how i am apparently going through a second puberty that is causing increased amounts of hair to grow on my body (most notably on the back of my hands--- thankfully, my palms remain as-of-yet hairless). however, i think the better option would be sharing the new word i learned yesterday on the discovery channel: dendrochronology. dendrochronoly (n.): The study of climate changes and past events by comparing the successive annual growth rings of trees or old timber. neat, huh? i thought so...
