a google search for "ugly retarded girl" resulted in this.
there's a new, awesome-looking movie called VanHelsing which is coming out soon. it stars hugh jackman as the eponymous vampire hunter. while most people figure this is probably the first time wolverine has ever fought dracula, they'd be wrong. every good little nerd that their first tussle happened in x-men annual #6.
two things that i thought were funny happened in my apartment yesterday:
1. AB and DM had the following convo.
dm: i haven't done a beer-bong since college.
ab: but have you ever done a keg-stand, d?
dm: once, but it was after i'd been up doing coke for 6 hours.
2. a bunch of us ordered from this superghetto diner-type-place down the street from me. a lot of our stuff came with fries. rather than sending a bunch of ketchup packets with our order, the diner sent us a half-empty glass bottle of ketchup. wtf?
in other news, it's damn cold in new york.

I got my back waxed. I did it about partly out of curiosity, partly for the story, and partly to have my shit look pretty for the bf. I went with BG to the small waxerie that he goes to. (“I should go once a month, but I only really make it there once every few months,” he reported when I asked him how often he went.) I was told to go to a very small room where three different pots of wax were boiling up. The lady comes in and tells me to lie face down on the butcher-paper-covered bed. She asked me what kind of wax I wanted, and not understanding, I said, “uh… back?” she stifled a smile and explained that they had three types of wax: regular ($13.50) sensitive skin ($20) and pain-free ($45). I opted for the regular because paying the extra $30 would have hurt me more than any wax. Before she started I asked that she not touch the small patch of hair at my lower back as I love that particular bit of body hair. She didn’t touch it, but she did “clean it up.” All told, it wasn’t that bad. It only really hurt when she did my neck and upper shoulders, as that’s where I have the most hair. And even then, it didn’t hurt that bad. Now I’m thinking about eventually getting my ears waxed, as they’re starting to get a wee bit out of hand.

so much happened in 2003, that the year seemed to take longer than most years to run its course. this year, i wanna catalogue all of the crap that happens nationally, internationally, personally, whatever. just whatever i take note of or am amused by.
first things first, dm and tt got back together at midnight, as it was becoming 2004. (depending on the kind of person you are, you're either somewhat charmed, or somewhat rolling your eyes.)
i read a book! ok, ok, it was only 'the great brain' but still, considering the only book i read from cover to cover last year was the vice guide to sex, drugs and rock and roll, and i didn't read that until like november. i figure if i've read one book within the first two days of the year (started 1/1, finished 1/2) i'm already ahead of the game, compared to last year. also, i'm reading the davinci code with the chicago cerebral hemmorrhage. i think davinci code is kind of a cheaply written book, and not the best idea, in retrospect, for a book club. but who cares, at least i'm reading, right? i started reading the book late but now i'm now ahead of where i should be with regards to the c.b.h. reading schedule. onward and upward and all that.
britney spears got married. i predict this will only get more annoying before it gets less annoying.
