saint patrick's day checklist
after living in new york city for uhm... (carry the 2... pi-r square... negative b, plus or minus the square root of...) 27 years i decided to finally go see the st. patrick's day parade work its way down 5th avenue. I got there kinda late, but wound up catching all of the things one expects from a good st. patrick's day parade, namely:
silly people doing silly things to their faces with the colors... excuse me, colours of the irish flag
middle-aged women trying desperately to hang on to their long-gone youth and vitality
non-irish folks getting into the act
high school-aged participants taking this shit way-too-seriously
drunk teenagers
and my personal favorite, cute irish guys
